Basil pesto

Freezes easily in ice cube trays or a zip-lock bag.
Blend in blender:

  • 2 cups basil leaves and flowers
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Add and process only a few seconds:

  • ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons pine nuts or walnuts
  • 3 Tablespoons softened butter
